In the last years of his life Ruskin spent many days painting with his friend and assistant William G Collingwood. This watercolour, probably painted from his favourite slate seat at Brantwood, returns him to one of his passions, recording the wonders of nature.
It is unsigned but a note on the back gives the date and artist details.
We have several paintings by William G Collingwood also painted in this period in the collection.
All of our images have been digitally restored bringing them back to perfect condition, they are absolutely stunning.
